Going Underground Seoul

Seoul has a fairly extensive subway system. They have been clever in the way that the system also serves as pedestrian underpasses at major intersections. The result is a quicker, safer passage through the streets that is warmer in the winter and supports commerce.

An entrance to the underground

An underground book store

A Cup of Babbette in the Kitchen
This is my favorite place to go for a cup of hot choco

A Tailor Shop

A Shoe Shop

A Kim Bop Restaurant
Kim Bop is rice and other foods rolled up in seaweed, kind of like a jelly roll or a sushi roll. It's inexpensive and tasts pretty good.

A Clothing Shop
You can see just how small these places are.

This store sells punch clocks
There may be six stores that sell punch clocks all within the same area, maybe even right next to one another. There are also stores that just sell trophies, like golfing trophies or for employee recognition.

Some Familiar Advertising

Camera Store
This camera store is a physical catalog of expensive and famous film cameras. I rarely see anyone in this place and it makes me wonder how they stay in business. I wonder if they have a booming on-line store also.

And of course, you go to the subway which is one or more levels down, depending on which line you are looking for.
